OverviewHealth insurance is an important part of studying and living in Australia. International students generally need Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of their student visa. Other visa applicants may also need to consider suitable health cover depending on their visa type, stay period and personal circumstances.
Required for the entire duration of your student visa. Covers hospital treatment, ambulance transport (in most policies) and some out-of-hospital medical costs. Must be arranged before your visa is granted and kept current for your whole course.
